Lawyer Samuel Dubik Masubir Mahama has been chosen as the new Managing Director of the Ghana Electricity Company by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo (ECG).
He succeeds Kwame Agyeman-Budu, who has been on sabbatical since last Thursday, May 12, 2022.
Jones Ofori–Addo was appointed acting Managing Director awaiting the selection of a substantive Managing Director, according to a circular signed by Ms Cynthia Amartey, Director in-charge of Human Resources at ECG, on Thursday.
In a letter dated May 13, 2022, the Presidency announced the selection of Lawyer Samuel Mahama as the next ECG boss.
As a result, the government has authorized the Energy Ministry to initiate the appropriate procedures to allow Samuel Dubik Mahama’s regularization in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992) and ECG rules.
Mr. Samuel Dubik Mahama has held positions such as non-executive director at GIHOC Distilleries, country agent for Gulfsouth Forest Products, partner at Dubik & Associates, and Wilkins Engineering.
Prior to his appointment, Samuel Mahama served on the ECG Board of Directors.
