A Texas based pastor has sued American rapper Kanye West for using part of his message in his “Come To Life” track on the Donda album.
Bishop David Paul Morten filled a lawsuit against UMG Recordings, Def Jam Recordings, G.O.O.D Music and Kanye West saying an audio from his sermon was used without his permission.
According to the Bishop, 70 seconds of the track which is 5 minutes 10 seconds long were his sermon used which constitutes almost about 20 percent of the song.
The Donda album also scored over 60 million streams in the U.S. on Apple Music in the first 24 hours of its release, breaking a then 2021 record for the platform.
Bishop Morten is seeking damages from all the parties involved.
