How To make yummy meat (beef) pie
For the pie
- (400g ) 3 cups of all purpose flour
- 150g of cold baking margarine
- 4 tablespoons of cold butter
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 7 tablespoons of water and milk mixture or just water
- Pinch of salt
- 1 drop of brown sugar
- Grated nutmeg
For the filling
- 1 cup of minced beef
- Vegetable oil
- 2 medium chopped onions
- 2 diced carrot
- 1 large diced green pepper
- Season cube
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 2 tablespoon flour
- Salt to taste
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon milk

For the filling of the pie ( Method )
Step 1. In a bowl, mix beef with seasons ( curry powder, cube and salt to taste ) and allow it to sit
Step 2. In a neat frying pan, add in your oil, preheat, go ahead and add the chopped onion. Allow to stir fry under medium heat for few secs.
Step 3. Add the seasoned minced beef, break the meat apart, and allow it to cook until it well done or properly cooked under low heat.
Step 4. Pour in the diced carrot and green pepper, cook until tender.
Step 5. Furthermore, with a bowl, mix the flour and water together into smooth mixture.
Step 6. Pour in the flour and water mixture over the cooked beef and allow it to simmer for 3minutes.
This allow the filling to thicken up and yes, it’s ready for the pie.
Preparation for the pie dough
Step 1. Add a little the salt, baking powder, nutmeg, together with all purpose flour and sieve it into a clean large bowl.
Step 2. Add in margarine and butter and use both hands to combine the mixture till it becomes crumbly.
Step 3. In a small bowl, add brown sugar to your water and milk mixture ( mix them up until sugar dissolves )
Step 4. Introduce a little drop at a time of ( step 3 ) mixture into dough
and blend it up together using your hands until slightly stiff dough is formed.
Step 5. Bring dough out the bowl, knead on table for a minute or less. Afterwards, wrap it up with clean napkin or plastic and store in fridge for 15 minutes.
Step. 6. Before you take out dough, preheat the oven.
Step 7. Also, brush through a little margarine on the baking pan. Set aside
Step 8. Using the rolling pin, sprinkle a little flour on table and roll out the pie dough.
Step 9. Use pie cutter and cut into medium circles or your desired shapes.
Step 10. Prepare egg wash, crack the egg in a small bowl, add milk and whisk.
Step 11. Now, fill in your cut dough with 2 tablespoon of already prepared pie filling, brush the edges of the whisked egg and flip it over to close it up.
Step 12. Use either fork or the tip of your finger, crimp the edges. Rub the baking pan with a little of margarine.
Step 13. Neatly arrange all filled pie dough on a baking pan, brush on top with the whisked egg and bake for 20 minute until golden brown.
